Hi McKenzie I saw your comment on From Berkshire to Buckingham and remembered this really interesting post of yours I’ve always been amused by the popular media trying to set Diana as the gold standard POW they compare Catherine to when in my view Diana was a very popular celebrity
Hi Ethel! Thank you for your comment! I tend to agree with you quite a bit. I think that Princess Diana had a lot of really wonderful qualities, and she was incredibly loving and that radiated through her during engagements. But, she certainly was not the first royal to get stuck in! She also did rather have the celebrity element didn't she? I wonder if part of that stemmed from being thrown into the while circus at such a young age. She was more vulnerable and didn't have the prep time like Catherine. What do you think?
I think Diana came from a family where celebrity was a value watching her three nieces from STH Africa who are really committed to the celebrity lifestyle I have to think it’s is part of their family personality I do think Catherine is better suited to the role by nature but it’s just a personal view based only on media info it is Alexandra’s portrait that hangs in pride of place in the white salon in Buckingham palace no other queen or POW has a similar honour I think it is a measure of her contribution and legacy
What an annoying and unhelpful comment. If you think readers will be confused by the use of POW in this post with all of the abundant context, this is an embarrassing reflection on your own comprehension skills.
I don’t mind admitting I was momentarily confused by an out-of-context use of POW and I don’t understand why my comment made you want to insult me. My comment at least was not intended to be hurtful whereas yours clearly was. I hope you feel it was a good use of your time.
As a child, she occasionally had bedtime stories read to her by Hans Christian Andersen, which is quite a flex.
Absolutely a flex!

Please just bear in mind for future posts that POW means Prisoner of War not Princess of Wales
