Was The Queen Mother Actually Illegitimate?

A royal myth that circulated for some time!

Did you know that there was a royal myth that circulated for quite some time about the Queen Mother not being born to her actual mother The Countess of Strathmore? I personally think that it is completely untrue…but some believed that this is why the Duke and Duchess of Windsor called her “cookie” because she was born to the family cook. PS: I just want to share a bit about where things are headed. As you may have noticed, I changed the name of this publication to Mostly British History because I feel that this much more accurately reflects what I like to write about…Mostly British History with some other history sprinkled in the mix. My aim is to have one weekly written post, and one weekly video, so that is what you should be able to expect from me just about every week. Looking to the future…one day I hope to also offer paid posts to community members that are looking for deeper historical conversations and much deeper dives into historical figures. I am very excited about ALL aspects of this little passion project, and I am so glad you are all here for the ride! If you want to keep this Mostly British History conversation going, please subscribe, share or pledge!
